Prescription Focals

Focals support single vision correction (no bifocal) prescriptions with a sphere (SPH) value between -4.00 to +2.00.

If you have astigmatism in either eye, you will have a cylinder (CYL) value in your prescription. Focals can support a cylinder (CYL) value up to -2.00.

At this time, Focals do not have any progressive (ADD) support.

Before you can purchase prescription Focals, you'll need to upload your prescription or bring it with you to your sizing appointment.

Prescriptions require SPH and/or CYL values as well as your right and left pupillary distances (RPD/LPD). This is the distance between your nose bridge and right/left pupil. RPD and LPD are important because they help us place the holographic film in a position where you can see the Focals display clearly.

Here's how you can upload your prescription:

  1. Create an account or log in.
  2. Select Prescription.
  3. Upload your prescription as an image file (JPG, PNG, GIF).

When booking your appointment, make sure you select Sizing as the Appointment Type and Prescription as the Lens Type.

Can I use my contact lens prescription for prescription Focals?

Contact lens prescriptions are very different from prescriptions for eyeglasses. This is because the lenses for eyeglasses are focused 12 millimeters from your eye, whereas contact lenses are on the surface of your eye.

For this reason, prescription Focals require measurements and details from prescriptions for eyeglasses only.
